T O P I C R E V I E Wheadintheclouds91Hahaha i have noticed with myself that when i am in flirt mode i can get a little preachy. I have a venus/jupiter aspect and i think it comes from that i get like this sometimes. Its like i want to come off like some sort of a guru or something when i try to attract 😂 Faith They're lucky. I'm sure you teach good things. My Sag Venus is conjunct Neptune, and I'm a Pisces moon, Rabbit. I honestly never really understood how I was attracting anyone. Maybe just by following subtle cues? I never actually flirted much. But yes there have been a few times where I deliberately used my intellect to get a man to change his mind about me, and I was aware of the fact that he might be a little enchanted as it dawned on him that I wasn't quite as dumb as I looked at first. hehehe Maybe I did sound preachy just because I project an air of being informed and stubborn..."I know what I know."Please don't quoteheadintheclouds91@Faith "i know what I know" Oh my gosh that`s EXACTLY how i am too. I don`t mean to be preachy but i just like to share what i have learned. I want to be the man of my interest guide towards a better path. And the reason i say a better path is bc a few of the guys i have been attracted to have had some issues and i want to let them know that i "see" them and want to help. If i am not letting you know that i "know" then i am really not that interested. Lol. FaithYeah that makes sense! Also I've been attracted to the men who let me talk. Plenty of times I have just been the listener. I genuinely care what people have to say, it's no sacrifice for me to listen, and I guess that shows, and that's why I end up "trapped" in conversations with random men at the library or grocery store, or at parties. But there has to be equal give and take, for me to start feeling attracted. One guy completely seduced me once, because I started to say something, lost my nerve, and he said in exactly the right tone, "No...go on." "OKAYYYYY well if you insist..." DopGangSo you're talking about preaching about your life experiences and wisdom? On the receiving end, it depends on the delivery. I'll either be interested or tell you to take a hike. Rarely a feeling of indifference. When I first saw the subject line, my gut reaction was negative. I'm not a Venus sag or Venus Jupiter so if I'm not welcome to share that perspective then I apologize. headintheclouds91 quote:Originally posted by Faith:Yeah that makes sense! Also I've been attracted to the men who let me talk. With my clients I don't think I sound preachy either but part of what I do is educate, provide information and assist client gaining insight and expressing repressed feelings and needs but I am careful to not come off as preachy for sure. My clients like hearing what I have to say and find it helpful. With guys I flirt more with my eyes and body language and like to ask questions since I have mercury ruler of my 7th parallel pluto. I don't want to come off as preachy when I am interested in a guy. I look more for getting him to show me his vulnerable side and open up more deeply bec I want to get to know him deeply.hypatia238 quote:Originally posted by DopGang:So you're talking about preaching about your life experiences and wisdom? I'm not really political anymore, but I wondered if you ever got into a situation where you were enjoying a conversation with a guy, it was warming up, and then it turned to politics, and there is like a fork in the road? Where you go either in the Pisces moon direction of keeping it all smooth and agreeable, or get fired up talking up your beliefs?DopGangEdit: I wasn't going to make sense. hypatia238 quote:Originally posted by Faith:Hypatia,We're similar with the Pisces moons and fire Venuses, and our political views. Where you go either in the Pisces moon direction of keeping it all smooth and agreeable, or get fired up talking up your beliefs?Great point yes hahah I totally see what you are saying about the pisces moon and fire venus, great observation and yes I see what you mean.As a venus in leo in the 9th is important for me to date a guy with somewhat similar ideologies to mine. I tend to be attracted to other libertarians who are agnostic, atheists or into my type of spirituality that is friendly towards Buddhism and the idea of reincarnation. So if a guy starts to make comments that indicate we are not somewhat on the same page I won't want to pursue them romantically in general unless the chemistry is like ridiculously strong like with my ex but my ex did not push his ideologies unto me, he was christian although far from a fanatic and only talked about politics in the context of Cuba. To answer your question specially when I was younger maybe I would take more the venus in leo in the 9th route and passionately express my views but I tend to follow my instincts and check with myself that is safe for me to take that route with someone I like. Like with my husband I was a democrat when I met him but he was a libertarian/paleo conservative like Ron Paul, now he is an anarcho capitalist. I felt safe expressing myself around him and was passionate, however he quickly persuaded me to change ideologies because he exposed me to this world that I was looking for all along but did not know I was looking for it. I was attracted to liberal idealogies bc of its emotional appeal but he got me hooked on libertarian values bc of its logical appeal and bc its core values revolve around freedom. I felt like finally I was getting political feedback that sounded real and that the media never covers bc until then my whole life I felt an aversion towards the news and then I realized that is bc my instincts didn't buy what they were selling and so meeting him was a turning point for me ideologically, he woke up a part of me that wanted to be woken up but I did not know that.hypatia238I want to add that is not like I am easily persuaded. Bf I met my husband I became friends with a republican older gentlemen who I connected with a lot and I met him while I was working at Macy's and pursuing my Bachelor's degree. He would visit me regularly at work to talk about politics and I was a democrat at that time. I loved the guy and still remember him occasionally and wonder how he is doing but he did not persuade me to change ideologies, now my husband did but he was a minarchist libertarian paleo conservative so that is a totally different animal.outofideas quote:Originally posted by Faith:Also I've been attracted to the men who let me talk. I'm not necessarily preachy, unless I feel like my intellects aren't being appreciated or valued. Then I kind of do turn into that preachy person who you're probably killing 50 different ways in your head to get me to shut up, lmao. My family already knows, if I don't feel heard, I'll talk your ear off until I think you get my point. Generally though, I'm probably not someone who is reliable to relate to in terms of flirting bc I've been with the same man for 16 years, lol. BUT, I will say that my husband says I flirt all the time! I don't see it, I feel like I'm being genuinely nice... But he's a Virgo Venus so anything above a mediocre "hi" is flirting in his mind! FaithThanks for your answers, hypatia! quote:To answer your question specially when I was younger maybe I would take more the venus in leo in the 9th route and passionately express my views but I tend to follow my instincts and check with myself that is safe for me to take that route with someone I like.I think that's what I do. Always testing the air and thinking of how my words are going to shape the dynamic. Sometimes I would rather keep things pleasant and shallow; other times I would rather just take a risk and launch into a deeper discussion. The most interesting conversations challenge me in both directions, making me feel like I need to be very conscious and aware, so I know when to bolt the door shut, hold to my fixed position, and when to open it, listen, and be ready to adapt. Peeking at people through a door that is slightly ajar, weighing and deciding. LOLBut honestly with anything verging on love, I guess most issues are dwarfed by the larger importance of just working out a respectful dialogue that keeps both people feeling wholly like themselves, but connected. Well to bring it back to the main topic, my Sag Venus needs freedom and respects others' freedom as well. #CampaignforLiberty diamondbabyI personally haven't noticed this with myself and the Venus in Sagittarius and/or Venus-Jupiter aspect folks I know. I have Sun & Venus in Sagittarius in the 5th house trine Jupiter in Leo in the 1st house and I'm not preachy at all. headintheclouds91 quote:Originally posted by hypatia238:I have venus in Leo in the 9th and when I flirt I don't think I sound preachy but who knows. Aries23DegreesDont know about "flirt mode", but Mars/Sun in 9th can be very preachy....period.I have Mercury and Sun in 9th with Mars squaring Mercury. I tend to come across as "know it all" to most. And its not deliberate Even when impressing someone, I tend to dominate the conversation. Most Mars and Mercury people like it. Sun people compete with me for airtime ,but its all good Julz87I can relate, I dominate the convo and I'm can be um "preachy" in the way you described I have Jupiter in Aries opposite Venus in Libra Its only because yes, I want to impress my interest, with my wit/mind ( I have Mercury conjunct Pluto) usually also tend to touch taboo subject quite fast as well IMO quickest way to break the ice we are all some kind of freak on the inside anyways lolcchampliss2Venus in Sag here, sextile to Jupiter in Libra. The last thing I do is preach while I flirt. Who wants to be wooed by a sermon? I do however, talk about all things related to what Sag Venuses like and that is literature, good food and wine, art, philosophy, spirituality, traveling abroad, etc. If the person can engage in that, then that's cool. hypatia238 quote:Originally posted by cchampliss2:Venus in Sag here, sextile to Jupiter in Libra.
